Mock Trial Team

The Mock Trial Team participates in a statewide competition that simulates actual courtroom activities. Each year teams are given both sides of a scripted court case to study. Using the information available teams either prosecute or defend the Mock trial. The goal of the competition is to familiarize students with the American legal system, how it works and how to use it.

Mock trial competition starts in January of each year. Practice and training for the trial begins each year in early November. The competition extends into February, or longer for teams that survive the single-elimination format that begins after the preliminary matches.
