Maryland Math League |
Loch Raven's chapter of the Maryland Math League was founded in 1992 with the
intent of providing challenges in a competitive setting to our outstanding math
students. These students compete monthly in a series of six half hour contests.
A team score as well as individual performance is recorded and mailed to state
coordinators. Schools are ranked by county with high scoring schools and
individuals receiving state recognition. At the end of the year, on occasion, a
regional competition hosts top scoring schools for one final contest and prizes
are awarded. Loch Raven won the competition in 1993, 1997, and again in 1998.
During the past five seasons, several of Loch Raven's students held rankings
among the top ten highest scoring students statewide.
